Once obtained, simply hold onto the shard until you reach the courtyard where the Commander/ Beast fight takes place. Now that you have the key, head back to the first room of the game. Get a running start and jump over the rail to reach the platform and obtain the Northern Monastery Wing Door Key. Instead of entering the doorway, turn around and head up the staircase until you see an item stashed away to your right in the central platform of the stairs. After defeating the First Warden, head down the newly opened stairway until you reach a large wooden door that gives you the option to leave. Shortly after beginning the game, you have the opportunity to access one of the most powerful artifacts the game offers, the Shard of Heroes! To reach it, you need to fight your way to the end of the intro section of the Monastery before you head outside.
